The Appleton Area School District is the 6th largest school district in the state, yet it has a small community feel. We serve approximately 15,000 students in our fifteen elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, thirteen Charter schools, and one magnet school. The Appleton Area School District is asking voters to approve multi-million referendum questions that would expand both schools and class offerings around the district. One seeks about $130 million to build a new elementary school, expand middle schools and add additional science, technology, engineering and math facilities and offerings. Students in 15 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools and 14 recognized charter schools. The district spends $9,403 per pupil and has 16 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. APPLETON, Wis. — If a pair of referendum questions get voter approval, some of the industrial arts classrooms at Appleton schools could look very different than they do now. ArtsCore
The Appleton Area School District provides collegial opportunities in support of teacher professional and leadership development and administrative structures. Stipends are provided to ArtsCore Colony alumni to present at ArtsCore’s annual Symposium, as well as providing leadership and coaching for Rtl Framework training. AASD supports Arts Integration Learning Coaches and provides an ArtsCore Liaison for the district partnership. AASD offers a Teacher in Residence program as well as the student teaching internship .
We strive to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive educational experience to all of our students. A district the size of Appleton relies on many attributes to maintain and to improve the quality of its educational programs. Appleton Area School District
New this year, parents/guardians can use the Absence Request found on Campus Parent tool to submit a request that informs the office in advance when their student is not going to be in school. This new feature can be used as an alternative to the traditional phone calls to the school office. Please see the instructions found here on how to submit an Absence Request via the Campus Portal. The second asks to allow the district to exceed its revenue limit by $5 million starting in 2023 for recurring costs tied to building maintenance, STEM class staffing and class size reduction in early grades. First year teachers and mentors have the opportunity to participate in arts integrated workshops at Appleton’s Performing Arts Center with financial support from ArtsCore. We are dedicated to addressing all the needs of all learners and provide graduating students with the skills and knowledge to successfully pursue the higher education essential for their chosen career paths.
